Lil Wayne vs. Jay-Z - Battle of the Heavyweights

Lil Wayne and Jay-Z are two of the biggest names in the world of Hip-Hop. Have they started a friendly back and forth or have these Hip Hop power houses started a war?

Jay-Z landed the first blow against Lil Wayne and Baby earlier this year with his verse on “H*A*M” from his new album "Watch the Throne" (Collaboration with Kanye West) stating,

“I’m like really half a billi ni**a, really you got baby money, Keep it real with ni**as, Ni**as aint got my lady money."

After songs off of Lil Wayne’s highly anticipated album entitled "The Carter IV" leaked into the public’s hands they quickly realized that Lil Wayne wasn’t going to let Jay-Z get off easy after taking a shot at him and Baby. In the track entitled "It's Good" featuring Drake and Jadakiss Lil Wayne states,

“Talkin’ bout Baby money, I got your Baby money. Kidnap your b*tch, keep that, how much you love your lady money? I know you fake ni**a, press your brakes ni**a, I’ll take you out, that’s a date, ni**a.”

But what made Jay-Z take a shot at Lil Wayne and Baby? They've collaborated on Jay-Z's 2007 "Hello Brooklyn," Lil Wayne's 2008 "Mr. Carter," and the insanely popular "Swagga Like Us" with T.I. and Kanye West in 2008.

Well in a 2009 interview, Baby stated that Lil Wayne is lyrically better than Jay-Z and that Lil Wayne has more money than Jay-Z. In 2010, Jay-Z came out on top of Lil Wayne when Forbes released their annual “Hip-Hop Cash Kings list”.
